Freedom Come Co-operative Thrift Society Limited is inviting members to submit nominations by petition ahead of its 1st Annual General Meeting in March 2026.​

Freedom Come Co-operative Thrift Society Limited will host its 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, March 21, 2026. In preparation for this, the Nominating Committee invites members to nominate suitable candidates to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors, Credit and Investment Committee, and Supervisory Committee.​

Who can be nominated

Nominations will be accepted by petition in accordance with the Co-operative’s Rules. Each nominee by petition must submit to the Nominating Committee:​

• A completed petition form signed by five (5) members in good standing with the Society (form available at the registered office).​
• A signed letter from the nominee stating agreement to the nomination and willingness to serve if elected.​
• A resume outlining the nominee’s qualifications and experience.​

Candidates nominated will be interviewed by the Nominating Committee to determine suitability to fill vacancies.​

Disqualification criteria

A member seeking nomination to hold office will be disqualified if he or she:​

• Fails to satisfy the Nominating Committee that he or she is a fit and proper person to perform corporate management functions.​
• Has a dormant or inactive account for six (6) months or more.​
• Has been a member for less than six (6) months.​
• Is delinquent in any loan or other obligation with the Society at the date of the petition and up to the date of election.​

Members of the Nominating Committee are not eligible for nomination, and no nominations will be taken from the floor at the AGM.​

How to submit a nomination

• Place the completed petition, nominee letter, and resume in a sealed envelope addressed to:
  “Freedom Come Co-operative Thrift Society Limited Nominating Committee” and labelled “CONFIDENTIAL”.​
• Submit the sealed envelope to the Freedom Come Co-operative Thrift Society Limited Office at 51 Molynes Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica.​

Closing date for receiving nominations by petition: Tuesday, December 30, 2025.​

Additional information

The Nominating Committee will review and submit its recommended nominations to the Secretary at least sixty (60) days prior to the AGM. The Secretary will, no later than thirty (30) days prior to the AGM, notify members via print or electronic media of the nominations submitted by the Nominating Committee.​

N.B. No nomination will be taken from the floor at the Annual General Meeting.​
